Wilderness First Responder

The Wilderness First Responder course prepares medical professionals, outdoor leaders, and backcountry guides to confidently assess, treat, and manage patients in remote environments where advanced care may be delayed. Participants build strong decision‑making and hands‑on skills through a blend of focused classroom instruction, demonstrations, and immersive outdoor scenarios.

Training emphasizes practical, real‑world application. Students work through realistic mock patient exercises that challenge their knowledge, reinforce critical thinking, and strengthen field‑ready competence. Instruction takes place both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, reflecting the realities of wilderness response.

This intensive 80‑hour program equips responders with the medical and leadership capabilities essential for safe, effective care in the backcountry.
